Understanding Salvation

Definition:

Salvation comes from the Greek word “Soteria”, which means “deliverance, preservation and/or safety.” It primarily involves deliverance from bondage of sin (wrong –doing (Romans 9:20-23, Galatians 5:1) Salvation also includes deliverance from enemies (Luke 1:71), sickness and disease (St. Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24.

Salvation is a gift that is made available to those who repent, believe and confess that Jesus is Lord and that He died and rose from the dead to save mankind. (Acts 16:31), Romans 10:9-10).

This gift cannot be earned through good deeds or by simply being a “good person” (Ephesians 2:8). It is a matter of faith (acting out on what you believe according to God’s word concerning salvation).

Steps to Attaining a Relationship with God & Be on the Path of Salvation

The following steps will help you obtain and maintain a Christ based relationship.

1. Hear
The Bible teaches that “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God”. (Romans 10:17). One is not a Christian because his/her parents are. Faith cannot be inherited (Ezekiel 1:20). Each person must believe in Jesus Christ themselves.

2. Believe
One must believe that Jesus is the Christ (Anointed One), the Son of the living God (St. Matthew16:16). One comes to believe in Jesus Christ when he hears the Gospel taught. Faith comes only by hearing of the Word. This is the reason we at Kingdom Impact Centre believe in teaching the entire gospel without exception.

3. Repent
One must repent of his sins to be saved (Acts 17:30-31). When one repents, he turns away from his sins (1 Thessalonians 1:9). Repentance does not mean just “sorry”/ It is a quality decision to ask forgiveness of our sins, turning away from ungodly living and submitting to God’s will for our lives (1John 1:9).

4. Confess
Jesus said that we must be willing to confess Him before men if we want Him to confess us before the Father (St. Matthew 10:32-33). A confession is as easy as saying: “I believe that Jesus is the Son of God” (Acts 8:35-38).

5. Be Baptized
One must be baptized, immersed in water; a public display of the faith and commitment about to be made within our lives. Please note baptism follows belief and repentance (Acts 2:38, St. Matthew 28:18-19).

With your personal decision to accept Jesus Christ into your hearts; that’s the best decision you have just made. Please follow the link for prayer and one of our prayer staff will be happy to pray with you. We love to pray, prayer changes things.

THE WAY WE WORSHIP

Introduction:

True biblical worship is to be the first and foremost reverence. (Hebrews 12:28). This means that it is to be done with the understanding of who is being worshipped. God is holy, just, righteous, perfect and loving. Those who wish to worship biblically must worship God as He is revealed in the Scripture. (St. John 4:23). The Greek word for Worship is “prokeneou” meaning “to pay homage” (1Corinthians 14:25) Join us as we pay homage to our Lord and Savior!

Biblical Expression of Worship:
We pray together aloud because in the Bible we read, “they lifted their voice unto God with one accord (Acts 4:24).

We lift our hands in praise because in the Bible we read, “Lift up your hands I the sanctuary, and bless the Lord” (Psalm 134:2).

We sing with all our hearts because in the Bible we read, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praises” (Psalm 98:4).

We play musical instruments because in the Bible we read, “And all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner or instruments” (2 Samuel 6:5).

We clap our hands and shout unto God because in the Bible we read, “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of Triumph” (Psalm 47:1).

We dance before the Lord because in the Bible we read; Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.” (Psalm 150:4).

We testify publicly because in the Bible we read, I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the congregation will I praise thee.” (Psalm 22:22).

We anoint with oil for divine healing because in the Bible we read, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” (James 5:14.)
